January 7: The Old Dam Community Band resumed regular Tuesday night rehearsals at Castle South Middle School after a snowy, icy weekend. Dan and Terri were at Windjammers in Venice, Florida. The ‘Little’ Old Dam Band did not meet this week.
January 16: The Big Brass Quartet met at 10 AM at Dan’s house and decided to meet regularly on Thursdays.
January 18: The ‘Little’ Old Dam Band met for the first time in 2025 and will continue to do so on Saturdays throughout the year unless there are performances elsewhere.
January 23: The ODCB did not meet due to bad weather.
January 29: Several band members gathered at Mark Myer’s house to remove a tree in his front yard that lost many branches during an ice and snow storm the previous week.
February
February 4: Added Jerry’s arrangement of “My Funny Valentine” to that night’s rehearsal.
February 18: No ODCB meeting due to bad weather.
February 22: The LODB played for the Riley Walk at Eastland Mall.
February 25: The ODCB celebrated its 25th anniversary (founded on Leap Year Day of 2000) with an enjoyable rehearsal and birthday cake in the school lunchroom.
March
March 1: Several band members attended Mary Ann Koch’s visitation before band practice. She passed away on March 28 after a short illness; she played trumpet with the ODCB for many years. Her husband played F horn for a short time, but their children, Andrew and Alexa, performed with us on and off for several years.
March 6: ODCB Spring concert at Friedman.
March 29: The ODCB experienced a very rare ‘rain out’ for our Spring concert at Friedman Park. We received permission from Joe Schitter to schedule a rain date on the following Tuesdays for all our Spring and Fall concerts. Thanks, Joe!
March 9: The replay of the ODCB Spring concert was not held because the Newburgh Amphitheater was already booked.

April 29: The ODCB experienced a very rare ‘rain out’ for our Spring concert at Friedman Park.

May 24: The ODCB performed for the Rose Hill Cemetery Memorial Service.

June 1: The LODB played at 4 PM for the car show and cookout at Bell Oaks Retirement Home.
June 20: The LODB played at Jacob’s Village ‘prom’ at 4 PM.
June 28: The LODB played from Noon to 1 PM at the Boonville Walmart for a Riley Hospital fundraiser.

September 6: The LODB played from 2:30 to 4 PM on Pete Emery’s front porch for the Haynies Corner Music Festival.
September 20: The LODB performed in New Harmony from 1 to 3 PM for Kunstfest.
September 23: The ODCB was rained out at Friedman for the second time this year—unheard of!
September 26: Repeat of the ODCB Fall concert on the Newburgh Riverfront.
September 30: The ODCB held its Fall concert at Friedman (original date was 9/23, but it was rained out). Below are a few images from that concert.

October 7th:The ODCB started rehearsing Christmas music.
November
November 2nd:The ODCB held its annual meeting at the Kiwanis building in Newburgh. This meeting was previously conducted at the Newburgh Central Library, which is currently undergoing remodeling.
November 23rd:The ODCB participated in the Evansville North Main Street Parade at 2:30 PM. Jerry Rexing pulled the trailer for the event.
November 25th:Several ODCB band members typically gather after rehearsal at a local establishment for drinks and food. Ed Gorman and The Bernhardts usually choose the destination, selecting from options like Wings, Etc., Jalisco, Prime Time Sports, Cricket’s, and Turoni’s. This week, they decided to try the new Stake ‘n Take located in the out-lot at Prime Time. Despite calling in orders ahead of time, the service was slow, and the food was just “OK.”
Sunday, December 7th: Newburgh’s Christmas Parade. The ODCB did not participate because it was quite cold and band members just declined to get out.
Saturday, December 13th: The LODB performed at The Melrose Retirement Home at 10am. Jerry subbed for Ted on drums.
