January 2nd: Regular rehearsal at Castle South Middle School.
January 4th: The Big Brass Quartet (BBQ) resumes rehearsals from 10 AM to Noon at Dan’s house. The normal group includes Dan Schultz, Jerry Reese, Mike Reising, Gene Vanstone, Steve Pitt, Tom Vanwormer, Jimmy Moore, Jim Kruze, and Tom Tweddel. All other low brass instruments are invited to join, with most music containing both treble and bass clef parts.
January 3rd – 17th: Dan and Terri are off for Windjammers in Sarasota, Florida.
January 20th: No ‘Little’ Old Dam Band due to icy weather.
January 23rd: Terri didn’t attend band practice, resulting in a low turnout. It seems the weather has taken its toll on band members.
January 25th: BBQ continues rehearsals.
February
February 3rd: The LODB performed at Primrose from 10 AM to Noon.
February 24th: The LODB performed for the Riley Walk from 8:30 to 10 AM in the food court at Eastland Mall. Present were Dan Solano, Frank Book, Jack Eskew, and Jimmy Moore. Other participants included Dan Schultz, Ted Gore, Prudy Moore, and John Spradley.
Tuesday, February 27th – It’s parent teacher night at CSMS so The Band delayed our start time to 7:30,
Thursday, February 29th – It’s The Band’s ‘official’ birthday but we’ll wait to celebrate until the next rehearsal.
March
March 5th: There is a concert at CSMS, so we met at North Middle School and enjoyed birthday cake in their lunchroom.
March 7th: BBQ is rehearsing here, but Jerry couldn’t make it because he is having a bad knee replaced.
April
April 2nd: No band tonight due to bad storms.
April 5th: The LODB performed at Newburgh Health Care at 10:30 AM. Joe Harbert was away at NABBA.
April 21st: ODCB Spring concert at Friedman Park.
April 25th: BBQ ended rehearsal with pizza and beer!
April 26th: ODCB Spring concert repeat at Allen Family Amphitheater on the Newburgh riverfront.
May
May 2nd: BBQ but no Jerry, as he is having his second knee replacement today.
May 18th: The LODB played at Jacob’s Village.
May 25th: The ODCB played for the Rose Hill Cemetery Memorial Service.
May 26th: The LODB was scheduled to play at Newburgh’s Strawberry Festival, but it was rained out.
June
June 1st: The LODB cancelled rehearsal because several members played with The Rhein Valley Brass at ‘Darmstadt Day.’
June 11th: The ODCB rehearsal was missing a flute player. Jill Robinson, who played with us until just a couple of months ago, passed away today.
June 14th: The LODB played at Bell Oaks for their car show and cookout at 4 PM. Al got stung on the head by a wasp while we were playing in their gazebo.
July
July 3rd: The ODCB was scheduled to play before the Henderson fireworks, but our part of the show was rained out.
July 13th: Some ODCB band members played for Jon Patton at Midway.
July 16th – 21st: Dan & Terri went to Windjammers in Davenport, Iowa. Jimmy and Prudy went too, and their daughter took them.
August
August 20th: The ODCB rehearsed at Castle High School.
August 24th: The LODB performed at Celebration Retirement Home at 10 AM.
September
September 17th: Eric Varden came to ODCB to rehearse for our Fall concert.
September 24th: ODCB Fall concert at Friedman Park.
September 27th: ODCB Fall concert repeat at Allen Family Amphitheater was cancelled due to rain.
October
October 8th: Regular ODCB rehearsal, but alternate conductors took over since Jerry was away.
October 26th: No LODB rehearsal because several members are playing with the Rhine Valley Brass at the Alpine House at 1 PM.
November
November 24th: The Evansville North Main Street Christmas Parade at 2:30 PM. Dan pulled the trailer.
December
December 1st:The Newburgh Light Parade. Jerry Rexing pulled the trailer.
December 6th:The ODCB Christmas concert at the First Christian Church.
December 7th: Members of the ODCB played in Downtown Newburgh.
December 17th: ODCB Christmas party at Dan & Terri’s.
