January

  • January 1st – Mary Ann Decker passed away.
  • January 2nd: The Old Dam Community Band resumed regular rehearsals at Castle South Middle School.
  • January 4th: Visitation today at Holy Rosary for Mary Ann Decker. She was an active member of both the ODCB and the ‘Little’ Old Dam Band for over twenty years.
  • January 5th: BBQ resumed and will continue to get together on Thursdays at 10 AM.
  • January 17th: Lisa Jackson (Bruce Balsdon’s (F Horn) daughter) started with the ODCB. She is also an F horn player.
  • January 21st: The LODB played at Holiday Health Care at 10 AM. Holiday is where Mike and Mary Ann Decker lived until she died on January 1st.
  • January 31st: No ODCB due to ice.

February
  • February 11th: The LODB played for The Really Big Show at the Civic Center hosted by Jeff Lyons.
  • February 24th: The LODB played at the Evansville Wartime Museum from 9 to 10 PM for a fundraiser.
  • February 25th: The LODB played for the Riley Walk at Eastland Mall.

March
  • March 7th: The ODCB rehearsed at Castle North Middle School due to other activities at South.
  • March 16th: BBQ played at the Evansville Wartime Museum for a luncheon fundraiser.
  • March 18th: The LODB played at Friedman Park from 2 to 4 PM.

April
  • April 4th: Regular ODCB rehearsal. Several band members went to Jalisco for food and drinks after band. Rich Bernhardt got a bug in his taco salad!
  • April 14th: The LODB played at the Wartime Museum from 6 to 9 PM for a ‘roaring 20’s’ fundraiser.
  • April 25th: ODCB Spring concert at Friedman Park.

May
  • May 9th: ODCB rehearsal at Epworth Church. We took our own music stands.
  • May 20th: The LODB performed for a special veteran’s memorial program at 2 PM at the high school in Petersburgh.
  • May 27th: The ODCB played for the Rose Hill Cemetery Memorial service at 11 AM.

  • Sunday, May 28th: The LODB, BBQ, and the flute group played from 2 to 4 for the Strawberry Festival/

July
  • July 3rd: The ODCB played before Henderson’s fireworks.
  • July 8th: Several ODCB band members played for Jon Patton’s band at Midway.
  • July 11th: No ODCB.
  • July 8th – Several ODCB band members played for Jon Patton’s band at Midway.
  • Tuesday, July 11th – No ODCB.

August
  • August 15th: Regular ODCB rehearsal followed by burgers at Jerry’s house.
  • August 17th: No BBQ because The Red Banks Civil War Band played at the Wartime Museum luncheon.
  • August 22nd: ODCB rehearsed at North Middle School due to activities at South MS.
September
  • September 12th: ODCB attendance down because Tuba Skinny was playing at UE.
  • September 13th: Todd (Tuba Skinny) dropped by my shop for coffee.
  • September 17th: The LODB played at Kunstfest from 2 to 4 PM.
  • September 23rd: The LODB played on Pete Emery’s front porch from 1 to 3 PM for the Haynies Corner Music Festival.
  • September 26th: The ODCB Fall concert at Friedman Park.
October
  • October 31st: No ODCB.

November
  • November 11th: The LODB played to start the Newburgh Veterans Run at 7:30 AM.

December
  • December 2nd: ODCB members played in downtown Newburgh from 1 to 3 PM.

  • Sunday, December 3rd – Newburgh Christmas Parade.
  • Tuesday, December 5th – ODCB rehearsal at North MS
  • Friday, December 8th – ODCB Christmas concert at First Christian Church.
  • Tuesday, December 12th – ODCB Christmas party.
