January
  • January 6th: Band resumes at Castle South after Christmas Break.
  • January 10th: LODB performed at Newburgh Health Care at 10 AM.
  • January 17th: LODB practiced at McCullough Library (arranged by Karl Zimmerman).
  • January 18th: LODB played in Haubstadt for Father Meny’s birthday party. Jerry wrote the arrangement of “I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles”—Father Meny’s favorite tune.
  • January 24th: LODB played for Karl Zimmerman’s “Evansville Obedience Club Party”.
  • January 29th: ODCB concert at Newburgh Library.
February
  • February 14th: LODB played in Evansville’s first Mardi Gras Parade.
  • February 17th: No ODCB rehearsal. School closed due to snow.
  • February 24th: ODCB concert at Newburgh Library. Band birthday party afterwards at Turoni’s.
  • February 29th: LODB was supposed to play for the Kiwanis Walk-a-thon but went to the wrong mall. We were waiting at Washington Square when Dan received a call from Diane Masterson wanting to know where we were!
  • February 29th: The LODB played at 5:30 PM for the SWIRCA ‘Gala’ ball.
April
  • April 11th: The LODB played at 8 AM at Lock and Dam Park for WCSC ‘Walk for Literacy’.
  • April 13th: Liz Emmert died.
  • April 22nd: LODB played at 11:30 AM at SWIRCA’s annual luncheon.
  • April 28th: ODCB concert at Newburgh Library.
May
  • May 1st: LODB played at 11:30 AM at Deaconess for volunteer luncheon.
  • May 12th: The Band went to a Women’s Club luncheon at Rolling Hills to accept a grant.
  • May 19th: The ODCB went to Castle High School for rehearsal.
  • May 23rd: Memorial Service at Rose Hill Cemetery.
  • May 30th: The ODCB played for the Newburgh Presbyterian Church ‘Strawberry Festival’.
June
  • June 16th: LODB at 10 AM at Newburgh Health Care.
  • June 27th: The LODB played for a wedding at St. Teresa. The couple used “Uptown Funk” for their wedding march. Jerry wrote the arrangement for us.
July
  • July 3rd: The ODCB had its annual picnic at Lock & Dam Park and played for Newburgh’s fireworks.
  • July 4th: The LODB played at Newburgh’s Farmers Market at 10 AM.
  • July 16th: Terre Haute Band Festival. We played at 6 PM.
August
  • August 1st: Castle ‘Bands on the Run’ 5K. The LODB played in the front yard on Casey Road.
  • August 18th: ODCB rehearsed at Castle High School.
September
  • September 5th: LODB played at Rathbone Home at 10 AM for their annual picnic. Dave and Pete Emery attended. At that time, Dave was living with Pete on Monroe Avenue.
  • September 19th: LODB played at 10 AM at the Newburgh Farmers Market.
  • September 22nd: ODCB concert at the Newburgh Library.
October
  • October 10th: LODB at Newburgh Health Care at 10 AM.
  • October 10th: The ODCB did the annual Fall Festival Parade at 4:30 PM.
  • October 24th: The ODCB led Newburgh’s Halloween Parade.
November
  • November 1st: ODCB Annual Meeting at Newburgh Library.
  • November 14th: LODB played for a hospital fundraiser in Washington, Indiana. Jerry subbed for Ted on drums.
  • November 22nd: North Main Street Christmas Parade at 2:30 PM.
December
  • December 1st: Joint concert with Castle South Middle School bands.
  • December 6th: The ODCB did street corner caroling in Downtown Newburgh from 2 to 3 PM.
  • December 8th: LODB played for the Newburgh Women’s Club at Rolling Hills at 11:30 AM.
  • December 8th: ODCB Christmas concert at 7 PM at the Newburgh Library.
  • December 15th: ODCB Christmas concert at Evansville Central Library.
  • December 22nd: No ODCB—school closed.
  • December 27th: Band party at Dan & Terri’s.
  • December 29th: No ODCB—school closed.
