About The Old Dam Band
In the spring of 2000, Dan Schultz, a Newburgh, Indiana resident, came up with the idea of forming a community band. Since then, the Band roster has grown to over 60 regular members, ranging in all ages, and skill levels. Our music style consists of everything from Traditional Marches, Pop and Show-tunes to Dixieland. There is something to please all musical tastes, with more music being added to the repertoire all the time.
For nine years, rehearsals were held at the Old Lock and Dam Building near downtown Newburgh. Since September of 2009, they are held on Tuesday nights from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Castle South Middle School in Newburgh, (actually Paradise) Indiana. If you play an instrument come and ‘sit in’ at a practice session. Our Goal is to have fun, provide quality music for civic functions, and give area residents an opportunity to share their talents.
